Mother and daughter dynamic duo

Petia has been coming to Dellafit for a few years now. Earlier this year, with the introduction of yin yoga and boxing classes, Petia told me that her daughter Oonagh would like to join.
Here is what our mother and daughter duo had to say:
- What do you enjoy about training with each other?
Petia: Training with Oonagh reminded me of how important it is to keep fit. It was hard to keep up but she was always encouraging. With Oonagh in my ear to keep going the crisp mornings and Della’s great workouts are definitely worth getting up for.
Oonagh: I liked training with my mum because it meant that I could help push her to be better at something where I know I am definitely better than her (well faster) and in the same way she pushes me to be better in other aspects where she has more experience.
2. What was your favourite class together and why?
Petia: We both love Della’s workouts. There is so much thought put into each class, with a variety of cardio, strength and core, and different combinations to help us get fit. But thinking about favourite I think boxing was our favourite class to do together. We are novices, but our instructor Ciara helped us develop our technique.
Oonagh: I enjoyed doing the boxing classes with mum because it is a class which I am able to push a lot more compared to yoga (that said we really loved the challenge of relaxing that come’s with yoga – we hadn’t done it before!. Boxing is also a class where mum is able to keep up with me so I don’t feel as though mum is falling behind
- Did you both do anything that annoyed each other?
Petia: Oonagh is on a very tight uni schedule, so we always had to make the quick dash home, that meant that we didn’t have enough time to see how everyone else enjoyed the workout.
Oonagh: Yeah uni schedule, it is really hard for me to go to more and more classes each week because I have uni from 8-5 and work pretty much every day, so I do get a bit annoyed when mum is super pushy, especially when I need to rest and things.
Thanks Petia and Oonagh. Ciara our boxing coach loved seeing Oonagh telling her mum to work harder! Keep up good work. It is great to have you both as members of our community.
