Member of the month July 2021 – Alison
I have decided to celebrate our amazing members and inject a little positivity into our routine by having a member of the month. Alison is our very first Member of the Month for July.
Alison is someone who regularly shows up and really gives her best in every session. Her commitment during lockdown has been outstanding with regular attendances almost every day. Her boys join her some mornings – she has clearly set them a very good example about staying active. Alison has a positive attitude which makes us all feel better at this hard time. Congratulations Alison!
Alison joined us during lockdown in April 2020 and has been with us ever since. Before lockdown last year Alison had seen us before (she lives nearby and has a friend in the same unit block who attends) but she was someone who liked to do her training on her own. She was quite disciplined about it and did not see the need to join a group.
When lockdown hit last year Alison gave the zoom classes a go and quickly became hooked on the way she felt after a class. During lockdown the classes made Alison feel as though she had achieved something first thing and got her into a great mindset for the day ahead. It is a small amount of structure that sets the tone for the day.
Lockdown ended last year and we were very excited that Alison started classes with us in the park. Alison has regularly attended strength and conditioning classes and is also a regular at yin yoga which she really enjoys for the thorough stretch it provides. Alison also had great results with us in the 8 week challenge we ran earlier this year, improving her push ups and her running.
Nothing is going to hold Alison back. She is an outstanding example of someone who maintains her health and fitness no matter what. Alison has prioritised health and fitness and it shows!
