Our member of the month for February has made a big change

Deniz came to us before the covid lockdowns, keen to get fit and strong. She is someone who routinely gets up quite early so early mornings would not be a problem. She started off pretty well but soon her attendance at the sessions really started to slacken off. Deniz would come to a couple of sessions and then I wouldn’t see her for a few weeks. Or she would come for 2 weeks and then not at all for 6 weeks after that.
Late last year Deniz told me that she was feeling very weak and lacking in energy. I noticed that she was finding the sessions really hard in a way that did not seem quite right. I sent Deniz off to to see her GP and maybe get blood tests as my first thought was maybe that her iron was low. Deniz’s attendance was still very sporadic.
This year in January Deniz contacted me and told me that she was going to attend 3 times a week, without fail. Guess what? Deniz HAS attended 3 times a week – without missing a single session. I am not sure what Deniz has done but she has a lot more energy. She seems happier and more relaxed as she does her workouts. Deniz is a valued member of the group who really puts a lot into her workouts. Even in bad weather she has turned up.
Deniz is our member of the month for February. Deniz is an example of someone who made a new commitment to herself and stuck with it. Deniz’s experience shows that you can change the way you approach your health and fitness. Just because you have a health set back does not mean that you will always be like that. You can turn things around and do what you can to get on track – it is up to you.
I am very proud of Deniz and I am glad she is part of our group. Also I am still thinking about the delicious empanadas she made for the Dellafit Christmas party.
