Help I need to lose weight….
I never promise clients that if they do my classes they will lose weight. Although I can push them hard during sessions, encourage them to attend and try to make sure that they are training hard, I have absolutely no control over how they are eating. I can do my best to offer assistance with nutrition, I can help keep them in the right mindset but at the end of the day it is true what they say “You can’t out train a bad diet”.
I also think it is a trap to get caught in a regime which means you have to exercise to lose weight. This usually means A LOT of exercise which will take you a long time (“Biggest Loser” style). Exercise should not be a punishment for over eating.
Exercise has so many benefits and one of the main ones is WEIGHT CONTROL. If you are doing your best with nutrition and you supplement your efforts with exercise you are going to find that you can keep the weight off. You can keep your weight stable. You are also going to be in the right headspace for a weight loss regime that may involve things like cutting down on alcohol and better nutrition. I can promise you that.
I can also promise you:
- better sleep
- improved fitness levels
- just “feeling better”
- better strength
- better body composition – more muscle – less fat
- stronger bones
- reduced stress levels.
If they sold exercise at the shop based on the proven scientific benefits, it would be constantly out of stock, such would be the demand!!!
