We say good bye to Max

Earlier this month we heard the sad news that Max, the beautiful big standard poodle, beloved pet of Veronica (a long time member) had passed. Max had not been sick – his passing was very sudden.
The news was very sad because we all knew how much Max meant to Veronica. Max was a much loved pet. Veronica and her husband Dario and their two girls treated Max as though he was part of their family. One of Veronica’s daughters has never known life without Max. They will really feel his loss.
Besides feeling sad for Veronica, we all also missed seeing Max with us in the park. He was 13 years old and still had energy to run around while we exercised, happy to be outside in the park. He was really in his element as he bounded around checking everything out and having a good play. Max has been with us since he was 9. I remember being surprised when I first met him that he was 9 as he seemed like he was 1 or 2 with so much playful energy.
Max was also a great friend to my new puppy Daisy and patiently put up with lots of annoying puppy kisses. He was a kind dog, never aggressive or angry just a sweet boy, friendly and loving. He was also very handsome and statuesque. A beautiful dog.
When Veronica attended her first Dellafit session without Max with her she felt very sad. Many tears were shed and we all rushed to comfort her. It was great to see our community and how much comfort we could provide for Veronica at such a sad time. It was very special the way that we all shared her grief, recognizing her loss and our own loss of the beautiful presence of Max.
