Mirren’s success story
Meet Mirren before and after her 7 week Fit and Strong program at Dellafit.
Even more awe inspiring are her fitness test results 7 weeks apart. She shaved 40 seconds off her run time (over 3 minutes down to 2 minutes and 20 seconds) and went from doing 12 burpees in a minute to doing 19. At the start Mirren could do 12 push ups on her knees in 30 seconds and by the end she was up to 18 including a couple on her toes which are now part of her regular routine. A weight loss of 5 kgs, a loss of 6cms around her waist and as you can see from the photos, a firmer, fitter looking Mirren is now ready to take on any workout up there with the best of them.
In the last term of 2016 Mirren, who is a busy mother of 3 little kids aged 5, 3 and 1 decided it was time to focus on her health and well being for a few weeks. Mirren made the commitment to train 3 times a week and to pay more attention to her nutrition over a 7 week period. Her aim was to start the process of becoming fit and strong and to make regular exercise and good nutrition part of her life.
Very soon after starting the 7 weeks, Mirren’s partner had to fly to the UK for an urgent family matter. Mirren was left holding the fort and 3 little kids. It would have been easy for Mirren to give up at this point – its hard enough to look after 3 little kids without the added pressure of turning up to an exercise group. But to her credit Mirren continued to turn up, sometimes with the kids – she was determined to continue what she had only just started. It was a struggle at first – Mirren had not done any regular training for a while and the thought of running around the oval for her initial fitness test was daunting. Again Mirren rose to the challenge and tackled the test head on.
As the weeks went by not only did Mirren train hard, she also focused quite a lot on what she was eating. More protein and more vegetables were incorporated into the family’s meals and snacks. Mirren even did a grain free week and in the process discovered that some of the different options she had to look at when going grain free agreed with her.
Mirren is thrilled with her success. The increase in her fitness levels is remarkable and evidenced by amazing improved scores in her fitness tests. She would like to improve her fitness even more. The difference between Mirren 7 weeks ago and Mirren now is that she has the confidence to know she can dive in and train hard and pay attention to her nutrition and know that she will get results. It’s not a fast process or a dramatic overnight transformation but when you put in the work outside during group sessions and inside the kitchen IT WORKS!!!
We have another Fit and Strong program starting on 20 FEBRUARY. By signing up and making a commitment for a set number of weeks, being accountable – you will get results and a whole lot of ideas and habits to go with you once the program is over.
