Crawf loved yoga so much he quit his job

I am so excited about Dellafit’s Yin Yoga weekly classes starting next Thursday 4 February at 6.30am at Rushcutters Bay Park. One of the reasons I am excited is that the sessions will be taken by Crawf Weir who is an experienced and awesome yoga teacher, who specializes in Yin Yoga.
I thought it might be good to get the inside info on Crawf so I asked him a few questions. Here goes:
Crawf, how long have you been practising yoga?
I started yoga back in 2004.
How did you get into it?
I went to my first yoga class desperate to cure my chronic back pain. I started to feel better after a few weeks, and after a couple of years, all the pain had gone.
Feeling inspired I quit my job and went on a yoga teacher training. Ive been teaching ever since.
What is your favourite form of yoga?
My favourite style of yoga is Yin Yoga because it is such a deep practice, both for your body and your mind.
Where did you grow up? What did you do before you became a yoga instructor?
I grew up in a beautiful town called Ilkley, in Yorkshire, England. Before yoga, I had various management positions in graphic design and print.
What benefits do you think our members will see from weekly yin yoga classes?
Deep Stretching
– Yin Yoga is one of the most effective ways to stretch and release muscular tightness and tension.
Rest & Relax
– Most of us have too much Yang in our lives, always busy, lots of stress. Yin teaches us how to slow down and relax, restoring balance to the system.
Mindfulness
– Yin Yoga helps us to be more present, kind and compassionate towards ourselves. So you will finish the class feeling happy!!!
Do you have any pets?
I’ve got a 1 year old Whippet called Bodhi. He’s a real speed machine – definitely too much yang!!
What are your other interests besides yoga?
I like high intensity training such as boxing and Crossfit. I’m also a keen golfer and tragic Manchester United fan.
Anything else?
I’m really grateful for the opportunity to share yoga with you guys. Looking forward to it.
